Ask the receiving team, not just the booking platform
Contact the property directly and explain what you want to send, how many pieces there are and when you expect to stay. Ask whether it accepts courier luggage for guests, including items that arrive before check-in. A serviced apartment with no reception may work differently from a staffed hotel.
Get a named contact or department and save the reply. If the property cannot receive the shipment, arrange another address before booking. Do not rely on a courier being able to leave several suitcases at an unattended entrance.
Agree storage and timing
Ask how early the property will accept luggage, how long it can store it and whether it charges a handling or storage fee. Check what happens if a shipment arrives after you have checked out. These are property-specific arrangements, so use the answer from your host rather than another traveller's experience.
Keep the carrier's delivery estimate separate from your accommodation dates. Allow for the possibility of a changed arrival date and keep essentials with you. Choose an address where someone can still help if your flight or the shipment is delayed.
Get the exact address and guest identification
Ask the property to provide the address it uses for courier deliveries. Confirm the street, postcode and any building or reception details. Use the guest name that staff will recognise, and add a reservation reference only where the property requests it and the booking fields allow it.
Do not replace the street address with a hotel name alone. Check the delivery phone number as carefully as the written address: decide with the property which reachable contact is appropriate. Review the finished label before collection to catch missing building information.
Check the luggage before your next departure
When staff hand over the items, compare the piece count and labels with your own records. Open the luggage with enough time to check the contents before discarding packaging or leaving the property. Photograph visible damage and retain relevant packaging while contacting support.
If a delivery is recorded but the property cannot find it, ask which desk, department or storage room may have received it. Gather the tracking details and the property's response for support. Avoid immediately changing the delivery address or booking another shipment before the situation is understood.
